No Booze November – Tips and Tricks to Help You Succeed

Just finished Sober October and looking to keep up your new habits for November? Or maybe, you are interested in starting No-Booze November . Whatever your reason, we have some new tips to help you.  

If you have completed Sober October then you may be feeling some of the benefits of giving up alcohol already. Have you noticed having more energy, better sleep and more time to do other activities you enjoy?  

As we start to come into the festive season, you may be looking for a challenge and have a No Booze November or you have just completed Sober October and you need some encouragement to continue your amazing achievement. Having extended breaks from alcohol is a great way to reset your relationship with alcohol, and reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. Whether you’re taking a break from alcohol or hoping to quit for good, this challenge can be tough, but it’s definitely worth it. Here are some tips and encouragement to help you stay on track. 

Firstly, it’s important to have a support system in place. Surround yourself with people who will encourage and motivate you, and who won’t pressure you to drink. You can also join online communities or support groups, where you can connect with others going through the same experience. Have you checked out Sober Girls Ireland, Babes with Out Beers and the Sober Sallys? These are sober and sober curious groups that organise sober events and workshops. Definitely check out their Instagrams and you can join their amazing community of like-minded people.  

Secondly, find new ways to de-stress and relax. Many people turn to alcohol as a way to unwind after a long day, but there are plenty of other ways to destress. Try yoga, meditation, boxing, taking up running or even try going for some lovely winter walks around your area. Try get off your phone as well. Disconnecting from our phones and spending time talking to our friends in person or even reading can really help relax your mind.  

Thirdly, be kind to yourself and celebrate your achievements. Going sober for a month is a big accomplishment, and it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate your progress. Treat yourself to something you enjoy like your favourite coffee or a movie night. 

Finally, remember why you started this challenge in the first place. Whether it’s for your health, relationships, or personal growth, keep your reasons in mind and stay focused on your goals. You got this!
