'Booze Myths' Campaign

Launched in January 2009 the 'Booze Myths' campaign aims to challenge the myths that condone, support or encourage irresponsible behaviour.

Recent research indicated that a number of myths about alcohol and drinking remain entrenched with young Irish adults. Such myths include misunderstandings about alcoholic drinks (“some types of alcohol affect you differently than others”), drinking (“mixing your drinks makes your hangover worse”) and hangovers (“you can sweat out a hangover”).

Through posters on college campuses and roadside media the campaign will engage young adults by directly challenging their misguided but dearly-held beliefs and attitudes about alcohol, drinking and hangovers.
