An Ireland where alcohol is not misused.
Our mission is to work with others to fundamentally and permanently change attitudes and behaviours so that drinking to excess and drinking underage become unacceptable.
We do this by raising awareness, creating understanding and supporting behaviour change through evidence-led education and effective communications.
We are determined to make a difference and firmly believe that evidence-led education and effective communications will play a key role in changing attitudes towards harmful drinking and, in particular, help prevent future generations of people in Ireland from misusing alcohol.
We are a national not-for-profit organisation governed by a board of independent directors. We are funded by voluntary donations from a range of supporters including producers and distributors of alcohol in Ireland. We have clear codes to ensure that our source of funding does not compromise our operational independence.
We are open and honest in everything we do and in all of our engagements with external parties.
We dedicate ourselves to being a trusted provider of impartial information and advice about alcohol consumption and a partner of choice for those who share our aim to address the misuse of alcohol in Ireland.
We manage Drinkaware’s financial resources efficiently and effectively in a way that delivers value for money and is focused on achieving long-term sustainability.
